Henry,

Things are really crazy here for the Holidays with all the kids,(human ones!)home& in and out for awhile...dinners, gifts, RIDES! etc.,(youngest girl still does NOT drive...) SO, I have been on Critters VERY little and just lucky I have kept up with my e-mail. Even phone calls have fallen by the wayside....

Hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas and wishing you the very best in this upcoming New Year. It has been SO loony here that yesterday I declared the evening to be "SANTA PAWS" night so the girls,(the fur-girls) could open stockings. Each had a new type of healthy treats and Mandy got a new teddy and lizzie a squeek-santa ball. They were HAPPY girls!!! Wish the human ones would take a lesson. I did take pics. we will see HOW they turn out, Mandy is just about full grown at 7 mos,(just a bit of filling out to do-she is the apricot cavachon) and Lizzie is our 7 1/2 yr. old Cavilier with an eye for the camera, but Mandy??? ALMOST all pics. get her tail end!!! She is a little  Your new pics. are Great!

Gretchen & Bailey really cleaned up the plates at Maddies christmas dinner party! Both Bailey & garcia made off with the MUT-tha Stewart, rum soaked fruit cakes!

All for now...Maddie&sherri

HOLES IN YOUR HEART

As they leave for the Rainbow Bridge,
they leave another hole in our heart.
We have so many ways of dealing
with our time apart.

As their little souls leave their body
so it can stay
Their journey begins to the Rainbow Bridge
So very far away

They shall begin the search for others
that left us alone before they came
They all become a family and start
the wait together with no shame

Each and every one has a special place
in our hearts where they left their own little hole,
each and everyone had their own part
they played in our life, & their own special role.

For those left behind some have many holes,
for some the holes are few
All have sorrow in their hearts,
but all loved them true.

I know my heart is full of many holes
for those that have already gone ahead
It will be full of many more holes as
I can't leave a furbaby alone and unfed

In your life you will have a special one
that becomes your soul and one will be
                                           your heart
Then your journey will begin to join them
all and refill all the holes in your heart

Henry, Gretchen and Bailey and the gang ... thank you for stopping by my babies' memorial and your kind words.  I, too, hope your holidays were nice.  I was down with the flu .. but getting better.

I know our little furbabies are all waiting patiently for the day we all will be reunited .. never to be apart again.

Henry, I hope your New Year is brighter and filled with lots of joy.

Sending warm hugs from cold and snowy Santa Fe.

he Christmas Angels....

Hush now,  can you hear the Angels singing?

High up in the frosty midnight air?

Voices ringing, singing, songs of Christmas,

Happiness for all the world to share.

As we count the days.....

its Christmas,

filling all our homes with light and love,

Angels share these special times of gladness,

Celebrating with us from high above.

As the snowflakes float like stars from heaven,

Angels touch them softly, one by one,

Giving each one a gentle Angels kiss,

Snowflakes sent with love for everyone.

When we gather ‘round to sing sweet songs,

Each of us with heavy hearts,

In the sky, the Angels all sing with us,

As on the first Christmas long ago.

By our sides, our caring guardian Angels,

Look out for us each and every day.

So, however far from home we travel,

Loving Angels help us on our way.

When we help and care for one another,

High above the angels see it too.

Little acts of kindess,

makes all our Angels smile.

As dusk falls, our Angles fly above us,

Lighting all the stars up in the sky.

When you see a silver star shine brightly,

Then you know our Angels are nearby.

Angles sing their songs of love and friendship,

Special moments,

Sharing everything.

Songs about our happy times and the

Love and warmth that loving friendships bring.

As the daylight fades to gentle shadow,

Soft moonbeams shimmer, silver-white,

Tender Angels watch us while we sleep,

Keeping us safe through the moonlit night.

Hush now, can you hear our Angels singing?

The Sweetest songs of peace and love

From heaven up above.

Christmas songs of hope and joy and wonder..

Filling all our hearts with love…

Written by Claire Freedman, Gail Yerrill.

henry...a very merry merry christmas to you...for  gretchen and bailey..merr chris-mutt -

listen ...shhhhh..can you hear our angels sing...softly they sing.....

look up to the heavens....they shine bright....day and night

12-24-2009 3:32 AM -- By: Gretchen and Bailey,  From: Rainbow Bridge

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all over Rainbow Bridge
Not a critter was stirring, not even Hammy Sagar
The stockings were hung in the meadow with care,
In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.

The critters were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of rawhides danced in their heads.
And Heidi in her kerchief and me - Rameses in my cap
Had just settled down for a long, long, long night's nap

When out in the fields there arose such a clatter,
Puck sprang from his Condo bed, and so did Rocky and Dollie, to see what was the matter.
Away to the window Caliya flew like a flash, with Rosie, Bob M, and Sammie close behind
They each tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave a luster of midday to objects below.
When, what to Fayeroe and Max (PA)’s wondering eyes should appear
But a big huge red sleigh and eight oddly shaped reincritters,
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
Maddie knew in a moment it must be Saint Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
"Now, Wallace! Now, Windsor! Now, Dale and Bonnie Kraft!
On, Sammy! On, Gabby! On Bailey and Gretchen!
To the top of all the condos and beach houses, to the top of the wall!
Now, dash away! Dash away! Dash away, all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the housetop the coursers they flew,
With a sleigh full of toys and Saint Nicholas too.

And then in a twinkling Kia and Max (Canada) heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each big and little paw.
As Luke drew in his head and was turning around,
Down the chimney Saint Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes - how they twinkled! His dimples - how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow.

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when he laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And Max (MI) laughed and so did Cassie, when poor little Luna almost fainted.
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave Baci and Misty Rose to know they had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But Tippy, Saada and Duke all heard him exclaim ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night!"

The Critters all stood there with smiles aglow, as each one nodded from one to other. "We all Love You Mommy and Daddy", "Please Don’t be sad any more", "Please now Be Happy".

Dear Henry,

As Christmas draws nearer I am thinking about all of the friends Princess has given and continues to give to me as a gifts.  Each one is treasured and each one is thought about and remembered.  The notes and poems left in her guest book and in emails as little surprises mean more than any big box under the tree ever could.  The thoughtful remembrances of me and my dear friend Princess are treasures greater than any material item I could receive and I want to tell you with a full heart that I am as blessed as can be to know you Gretchen and Bailey.  Thank you for the gift of friendship.  Merry Christmas.

Michelle

Stopping by to wish you and Rose  and kids  a Happy and safe Holiday season a Blessed New year, its been so cold here and I have reflected on the many winters Kia was with me, she loved this weather. I felt like a mail man. no matter the weather we had to go for a walk, memories of our babies we can cherish...  The Blizzard missed us this time.......,.......Angel Harps
(by Terri Onorato)

Last night I saw you in my dreams
a brilliant light engulfed your soul.
And through my sleepy reverie
a glorious message did unfold.

The voice was that of angel harps
as you told me of the way
in which the bridge kids celebrate
this extraordinary day.

A radiant warmth ran through me
when you tenderly detailed
a special place I'd never been
where splendid love prevails.

You told me how the bridge kids
hold their paws and pray
for peace on earth, goodwill toward men
on this special, holy day.

Each bridge kid makes a heartfelt wish
to the Keeper of the stars,
they wish each stray a new-found home
without concrete floors and bars.

They ask that every homeless one
the Keeper not forget
for each one has the soul to be
a loyal, loving pet.

I watch you drift away from me
as in early dawn I find
the spirit of your paw-print message
still vivid in my mind.

I hold the message near my heart
and with a smile I hear
a lullaby of angel harps
singing in my ear.

We'll Never Say Goodbye

I cannot see you with my eyes
Or hear you with my ears,
But thoughts of you are with me still
And often dry my tears.

You whisper in the rustling leaves
That linger in the fall,
And in the gentle evening breeze,
I'm sure I hear you call.

A part of you remains with me
That none can take away;
It gives me strength to carry on
At dawning of each day.

I think of happy times we shared
And then I softly sigh,
But this I know--we'll meet again
And never say good-bye.

12-15-2009 1:59 AM -- By: Joy,  From: California

Hi Henry...Stopping by to let you know you, Gretchen and Bailey have been in my thoughts/prayers and to thank you for remembering Angel on her 10th Angelversary and her birthday.  Even after 10 years, those two days only being 3 days apart is difficult.

I hope you are doing well and looking forward to Christmas, it is hard to believe Christmas is upon us and we are almost into a New Year.  I'm hoping to finally be getting more time here at critters as I miss greeting the newbies and touching base with dear friends.  I thought things would calm down after finishing the renovations this summer but the hubby and I ended up contracting the H1N1 flu and were very sick for 2 months.  Then my computer crashed and we got it up-and-running in time for an online class I was signed up for.  I've enjoyed and learned a lot from the class but it kept me busy, it will be over later this week.  We've had unseasonably cold weather for No. Cali...two nights in a row the low was 19 degrees which was a record (I know it gets that cold in many other parts of the states but us Native Californians are spoiled with warmer or more moderate weather LOL).  We didn't get any snow at our house but the snow level was as low as 1,000 feet and the mountains in the town above us had snow caps...very pretty to look at!

Take care and be well and enjoy the holiday season.  Please know you, Gretchen and Bailey are always close to my heart :)  xoxo Joy (Angel, Taffy, Patches & Pumpkin's Mom)
