The kids each received a goodie bag filled with yummies treats, a blinking light for their collar, an I love by t-shirt ... and our love which they keep with them always. Good Friday Morning Charles, Sammy, Gabby and little BobM....... Cupcake, Xander and Bentley.

Stopping by with some fresh hot coffee on this beautiful sunny day here today. Doris sends a few of her freshly baked cinnamon rolls which just came out of the oven and a package of Granny's specialty homemade, chicken flavoured dog cookies for the  furkids. She tried a new recipe today and it seems like they must be good as Samantha, Tyson and Dozer are busy chewing away on them  as they are out on the deck and I think they forgot that I am even here ,HaHa.

It is a beautiful day here today and suppose to stay that way all weekend. All the furkids will have a all day playtime outdoors which will make them happy, I am sure.

Have a grand weekend . Sending hugs through the warm northren breeze.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Dearest Charles and Precious Furbabies, Please accept our deepest sympathy in the loss of your wonderful Aunt, who was such an integral part of your life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you cope with this newest grief. Sammy, Gabby, and Bob M. were surely there to welcome her to Heaven, and they are all waiting for your time to join them someday. So sorry that your spring has brought such sadness.

We are all well down here, and taking life daily as it comes. I had my right eye operated on for cataracts on April 2, and it has been a Hallelujah moment from that time one. I have such poor vision, and I can't wait for May 20, to get the left eye operated on. Then, I may be able to have 20/20 vision in both eyes. It is so remarkable to see leaves on trees and the distant towers on tops of the mountains here and in Albuquerque. It has been a miracle for me, one that I praise the Lord for allowing me to live long enough to experience. I have worn glasses since 4th grade and contacts since my sophomore year in high school. My vision is so bad that I cannot make out the big E on the charts. I feel truly blessed to have had this procedure.

The dogs are doing well, although Sabrina has been diagnosed with advanced congestive heart failure. She is on three medications now, and is doing well, although some days are better than others. How are all your Sweethearts doing at home?

Sending delicious breakfast burritos your way, with some Starbucks coffee for the morning. You are in our thoughts and prayers daily, even though I am slow in correspondence. Bless you for being such an inspiration to all those on Critters who are grieving. You are a treasure. Love and hugs from Socorro, Carol and MissyAngel, plus Smokey, Jasmine, Bitsy, Sabrina, Maggie, and Tinkerbell.

Dear Charles, Sammy, Gabby, BobM, Cupcake, Xander and Bentley,

I hope youa re well and that life is getting a bit easier after you loss. I take each day as it comes, some are easier than others. I am sure it is the same for you. Through thick and thin though our furry children are there for us. What would we ever do without them?!

Summer tried to muscle in on Spring last week with temperatures slightly over 80. That is hot for us especially this time of year. It has cooled down and the spring showeres have returned. Our forest and plants are happy with that and truthfully, I am too.

I was missing Pricess more than usual last week with tears and restless nights. No idea what may have caused it. She is nevr far from my thoughts but this was different. I hope all is well with my critters family and that she wasn't trying to tell me something.

Take care Charles. Hugs from WA to NM!

Dear Charles, Sammy, Gabby and little BobM....... Cupcake, Xander and Bentley.

Thank you for your recent kind posts as always and most of all THANK YOU for your acknowledgement of the ones that help me be able to follow my "Dream come true".Without Doris, Kim, Lawrence and all the volunteers at Luke's shelter who give of their time so generously,I would not be able to continue to do what I love best..Without them all, I am nothing.. I know that they all look at Luke's pages and see your posts and appreciate them as I do, so Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

We have been busy remodeling as i have written to you and all is going well. The weather is in our favor which helps alot. I know you have been busy as well with your Aunt's house and no doubt working around the clock as we are. I hope the furkids are doing well. Tyson and Dozer as well as all the shelter kids are enjoying the beautiful days outside. A few of them including my Dozer have to come and check out our work on the building and make sure things are done right while Tyson and Samantha supervise the outdoor play. haha.

Thank you again for all your kindness.I will write and post as time allows. Sending hugs through the miles.

Thank you so much for the message you left in my guestbook. It helps to know others can understand how difficult it has been for me since my Delilah passed away on 3/28/14.  She was my family and my best friend and losing her has been devastating.  You have my sympathy for the losses of your babies, Sammy, Gabby and Bob M.  Thank you again for your kind words-they are appreciated.

Dear Charles, Sammy, Gabby and little BobM....... Cupcake, Xander and Bentley.

Thank you for your visits and kind posts as always and Thank you for the compliment on Luke's picture.

I hope all is well out your way and that you are feeling much better after that very long walk .Sometimes we just tend to overdo things but I know you did it all in honor of your Aunt and I am sure she was very proud of you and watched over you all the way.

We are having another beautiful day so we have all been spending our days outdoors. The furkids are all happy to be able to spend their days outdoors again after the long cold  winter and yes the shelter is full again . There were six dogs and four cats that found their forever loving homes and left last Monday.I will miss them all but I know they have gone to loving homes.Their kennels were filled up again yesterday."smile".

Have a good day.

Sending hugs across the miles.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Charles, Sammy, Gabby & Bob M,

My little Cinnamon checks her mail every day . . . your angels know, Charles, how much Cinnie likes parties, presents, cards and the like, and we found the note below, from beautiful Princess and Michelle, in our mailbox, and wanted to make sure it got delivered to the intended recepients.

So, below is Michelle & Princess' message to you:

04-22-2014 7:35 PM -- By: Michelle & Princess,  From

Dear Charles, Sammy, Gabby, Bob M, Cupcake, Xander and Bentley,

Our apologies for a breif absence. I know you know how much their is do do after a loved one passes and I have been concluding as much as possible these past few weeks.

We had a very nice Easter weekend and learned that our son is once again engaged, this time to a woman I like! I wish them both the very best life has to offer.

I admire the strength you mustered to make your long walk last week in honor of your aunt and brother. I do hope it went well.  I am gearing up for the Furry 5k for our shelter. Scott and Stephen and possibly his new fiancee will do the 10k run while the kids and I do the 5k WALK!

It appears spring is finally here. We have had some absolutely gorgeous days mixed with the rainy ones. I cannot complain and neither do the kids as long as they get their walks.

Hugs to you my friend and thank you for keeping in touch, as usual it is you and a few others who help keep me going.

Dear Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M....... Cupcake, Xander and Bentley.

Thank you for your recent posts and kindness as always and especially for coffee and cheese danish this morning. I certainly needed that to get my day going as I had a long , busy day yesterday but very much worth it. "smile".All is going great with the furbaby"students".What a sweet bunch they all are!Tyson and Dozer are doing real good and what was my "little Dozer" is not so little anymore. He is growing like a weed to be sure. HaHa. Samantha and Taz are doing great and as you might have guessed, Samantha does keep things under control. "all in fun of course" but does her job when strangers come to the gate of the shelter and informs us that someone is there. The gates are always security locked so we have to unlock them from the building.

Doris and Kim are both here having lunch with me and say Hello and Thank you for the kind post. Much appreciated!!It is a nice sunny day out today, so I guess we will spend the rest of the day outdoors with our kids and the shelter kids of course. They all love to be outdoors and chase each other around and get muddy feet of course but that's ok ,they don't mind getting them washed up before they come in. HaHa.

Sending hugs through the miles.

Lauvern, Doris, Kim and all at the shelter.

Dear Charles, Sammy, Gabby, Bob M, CUpcake, Xander and Bentley,

Thank you for taking another  moment to stop by for Princess's 21st birthday. Having her angel day and birthday so close together is difficult so friends like you who truly understand and are there to lend a shoulder make all of the difference.

Today I will spend extra time, smiling and laughing, reflecting and s l o w i n g down. Life is so busy and complicated that without Princess to remind about these important aspects of life I often forget.

Thank you Charles. Hugs to you and all you love.

Sammy, you light up the Rainbow Bridge and I wanted to stop by and leave love for you on your Angel Day!

Charles, how can I ever thank Sammy enough for giving me his dad's friendship?  I can't do it!  Thinking of you as you continue to carry your special angel in your heart!

04-07-2014 4:15 PM -- By: Luna,  From:

Sammy, on your Angel Day, we’re thinking of you and your dad.
There are no words to tell your heart when it misses your someone so deeply. As the tears fill in your eyes the longing to hold them fills your heart  …. But take a deep breath, close your eyes and breathe, they are near!
Luna holds up a huge flashlight and point it at the sky, looks over at Sammy and says, “Do you think this is bright enough?” He mutters, shakes his head and smiles … “Oh Luna, you know WE’RE bright enough!” …  with that all the bridge kids  hold hands and MAKE A CIRCLE, they each take a deep breath, gather their thoughts and  blow their everlasting loves to the wind toward Sammy dad who longs to hold him … then Sammy peeks open with one eye open then nudges Luke, “Do you think he felt us?” Luke smiles and politely nods. Then he looks at Dale, who is ever so busy shaking his head and barking and wagging his tail, seems he has lots to tell you. Then Butler turns her head left and opens one eye which is not covered by an her pirates eye patch and snickers, then closes both tightly and sends her wishes through the air like a BLAST! “KaBOOOMMMMM!” like a canon was fired! She snickers … “where there is love there is fire!”  Sammy jumps up, gets so excited and leans over toward Gabby and Bob M and they embrace … when love touches the heart the only place for it to go is GROW!
Look inside, close your eyes and feel them within your heart … then tonight look at the stars and watch them dance … know they are happy, they have you and your love and they  watch over you still. In your times of sorrow know it is then that they sit beside you.
Sending sweet thoughts, fond memories and never ending dreams, Luna & her mom Nadine

Dear Handsome boy Sammy......I stop by today to remember and honor you on your 6th. year Angelversary. Six years ago today, you had to leave your Dad's side to go to Rainbow Bridge. Although it shattered your Dad's heart,he knows you will always live on in his heart. You are so loved and missed handsome boy. Stay close to your Dad today and always let him know you are near. You have the Best Dad ever but I know you already know that..

Dear Charles.... I know today will be a day of mixed emotions but I wish you a day filled with only the happy memories that I know you have of your Sammy. "Fifteen years of happy memories"... Sammy lives on in your heart... just like the paw prints he has left there. I know Luke and all my fur kids at the Bridge will be with him along with all his many other friends to celebrate his day with him as he continues to watch over you, Cupcake, Xander and Bentley.

Sammy, we honor and celebrate your life here on earth today.
