11-22-2011 10:03 AM -- By: Lauvern , From: Good Morning Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby, Bob M and Cupcake and Xander. Thank you for your visits and your kind posts as always. Stopping by with coffee and granny's homemade cinnamon rolls this morning. I know that you are enjoying your vacation with Cupcake and Xander as I remember while I had the hair salon business , I could not take my fur kids to work with me , oh how I missed them all day. When I got home, I gave them all my time as I am sure you are doing as well. When I took vacations, I loved spending all the days with my furkids by my side but it was difficult to leave them home again when I went back to work.
I now can take Toby, Tyson and JoJo to "work" with me which makes all of us happy.
Have a grand day and most of all enjoy the furkids.
Sending hugs as always.

11-19-2011 10:00 PM -- By: Nancy, From: Just stopping by today because I've seen you in the guestbooks of other memorials. No matter what I do, everyone I go to, you have signed and lovingly opened your heart to anyone that woudl need it. And I guess I just want to say, that is such a selfless thing to do. You brighten so many peoples day when you remember thier furchild, and you are there to wipe away tears, to those who just lost their furchild.
I guess I just wanted to say thank you for being there. Your Sammy must have been one incredible dog.
God bless you

11-18-2011 11:57 AM -- By: Lauvern, From: Good Morning Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M.... Cupcake and Xander too.
Thank you for coffee and cookies as it was much appreciated. We are having another beautiful day with fresh snow falling which means another day of wiping paws. All the fur kids had a ball all day yesterday until they played themselves out. A few of the little ones were begining to fall asleep in their food dishes at dinner time. HaHa. I am sure they all had a restful night. They all just came in for lunch and treats and I am sure will want to get right back outside which means I have to be out there with them and enjoy watching them play together as well as supervise a new one that came in on Monday. He has snarled Tyson and Samantha but thats as far as it went. This morning he snarled at Samantha again but was immediately corrected again by me as although I know Samantha can stand up for herself, I don't allow her too as they all know there is no fighting allowed. I will continue to work with him as I am not sure what his problem is. I won't let him out loose yet so I have him on a leash outside with me. He seems to be ok with people which is a good thing but we have to work on him with other dogs.
Anyway have a grand weekend. I am going back outside with the crew and will be wiping paws again all day. Ha-Ha.
Sending Hugs Always.

11-17-2011 8:18 AM -- By: Lauvern, From: Good Morning Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. and of course Cupcake and Xander. Stopping by this morning with fresh hot coffee and some of Granny's fresh baked cheese buns and to thank you so much for your recent visits and kind posts as always.
I have a easy day today so wanted to catch up on my posts, etc. It is snowing here today and is looking just beautiful. It is suppose to be a mild day so I guess I will be out there with all the fur babies playing in the snow. When I let Toby and Tyson out first thing this morning,I realized it was snowing but it took them a long time to come back in. I had to go out there and see what they were into. I know they can't get out of the yard as the gates are locked at all times but when I called ,neither one of them came and I can't see on the other side of the Gazebo . I went out there and all I could see is the two of them all covered in snow. HaHa. They continued to roll around in it as I waited for them. HaHa. Anyway I am sure it will be a fun day for all with many wet paws to dry off before coming back in.The ground is not frozen yet so no doubt there will be muddy paws as well. I am sure Cupcake and Xander know what I am talking about."muddy paws".HaHa.
Have a good day and Thank you for coffee and treats the last few mornings. I am sorry it took me awhile to reply as I have not been on here but my friends at Critters are never far from my thoughts .
Sending hugs all around
Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.
P/S I have to go and find my two snowmen kids"Toby and Tyson" and let them get dried off before we go to the shelter.

11-16-2011 12:01 PM -- By: pat, From: oklahoma Dear Charles, thank you so much for stopping by.
Would you let everyone know that "Stormin' Norman" got his wings early this morning. He broke a leg yesterday and it was discovered that he had bone cancer. He is Colleen's greyhound. The last one we rescued. He was blind (a greyhound condition) and will be missed so much because he was a big part of the family. He was Colleen and Josh's first dog when they married. Stella, their 8 year knew Norman from birth and will be grief-stricken when she learns of his leaving. Her heart will be broken.
He was 9 and lived a great life. Even though he was blind he was famous for his ability to find food and eat it while we weren't looking. I made hot rolls one day and he disappeared but by the time I got to the kitchen, all 9 rolls were gone and no crumbs were to be found. He almost got the Thanksgiving turkey once but I heard the thunk and saved it from him.
Norman enjoyed running, walks and playing in his swimming pool. He could not have had better parents.
His "seeing-eye guide", Marie Lauveau, who is a Katrina rescue dog will be lost without him.
Please keep them in your prayers and please let our Critters friends know. Thank you, Pat
11-15-2011 12:21 PM -- By: Luna, From: geez, my post went in to review, just for sending hugs and kisses must have been a secret word or something ... Luna sits back and tried to recall which one, and smiles ... Yes Charles, we are always watching over you and Xander and cupcake ... forever and always ... till we meet again. ((hugs)) Luna
11-15-2011 12:18 PM -- By: Luna, From:
Hi Charles, Luna bats her eyes at Sammy ... you see he does notice the stars, and they both smile even more brightly. The love in our hearts will always burn bright, when a cool wind rushes toward me or through me I automatically assume it's my little one giving me a great big hug ... one day I hope to hold them all in my arms ... or me be lying on the ground as they each smother me with kisses, a wet sticky feeling for sure, but my little girl always covered my face in kisses, couldn't tell what part was her or what part was my face, she literally consumed it all ... . Sending our love, Luna, her mom Nadine, Lily & Opal too.
11-15-2011 1:05 AM -- By: nicole, From: connecticut Charles, thank you so much for visiting my Lady's page & leaving such a sweet message. Your kind words are comforting during such a difficult time. 11-11-2011 10:46 PM -- By: Skye, From:
Hi Charles.... I wanted to thank you so much for stopping by and remembering our Molly on her birthday. I really appreciate it. I hope you are doing well -- and I am glad to hear that you have not gotten hit with any snow as of yet. We, too, have only had snow in the higher elevations. Some of those folks who are at a higher elevation than myself got snow back in October. The local ski slopes are going to town making their snow at this point, as our nighttime temps have been in the low 30's. As for me, I can't believe we are approaching winter again so soon! Where did the summer go? I just hope I am off of my crutches before it gets snowy or icy out again - or else I will likely end up with more than just a fractured foot! (and I am not always that skilled with the crutches on flat, dry land as it is...LOL). I know my dog, Teddy, cannot wait for the snow - he just loves it! Well anyway, thanks again for thinking of Molly and for stopping by on her birthday. Your visits are always appreciated. Have a great weekend! Best Wishes.
P.S....I just saw the cross-stitch of Sammy. It is really wonderful!
11-11-2011 2:00 PM -- By: pat, From: oklahoma Thank you so much, Charles, for stopping by to check up on us. The older I get the more I know it isn't for sissies. Yesterday I got up into the attic to check the flue for the wood stove. All seemed in good order so I built a small fire. The ceiling still has holes in it and it is impossible to heat the room. I wanted to see if the stove was okay. Then we all (dogs) went to the barn and got hay for beds for pups and Pearl. Of course I paid dearly for it with pain; but I got it done and that is important. My friend from Texas is coming back to stay an indefinite period. I am thrilled. I really need help here.
xoxoxo to your babies and you......Pat
11-11-2011 8:54 AM -- By: Lauvern, From: Good Morning Charles and kids. Just a quick note to say Thank you for your post and encouragement as always. As you know I do whatever I can and "more" to help these furbabies get furever homes and I love to do it. There are so many out there needing shelter and furever homes as you know. This time of year seems to be bad and then after Christmas when people that had received these "cute furry presents" decide they don't want them anymore.
Have a great day and grand weekend. Thank you for you kindnrss as always.
Sending hugs all around.

11-11-2011 6:44 AM -- By: Shaun, From: Australia thank you ver y much for your touching message. I still miss my "Snoopy" more than ever as you do with your "Sammy." I know that one day I we will all be united with our pets in heaven. I know God has prepared a special place where we will spend eternity with our pets and with the other animals. I know that when I get to heaven that Snoops will be waiting for me at the top of those stairs to welcome me home and I sometimes envison this in my mind on many of occassions. I can see him in my mind's eye just sitting next to the feet of Jesus wagging his tail waiting for that day.The Lord himself knows our brokeness of heart and I know that he has got all our best interest at heart. He knows the love that we had for our pets and how much they meant to us while they were here on earth. So, instead of shedding tears of saddness we will instead shed tears of unspeakable joy when we are finally greeted by our little fur babies on the other side of eternity.
God Bless
Snoopy's Dad

11-10-2011 1:41 PM -- By: Lauvern, From: Hi Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby, and little Bob M. and sweet Cupcake and Xander.
Thank you for stopping by and for the coffee. We certainly need coffee these mornings as the days are getting cold but no snow to speak of as of yet. I am sure it will come before long.
Yes I have been quite busy trying to get caught up with training. Sometimes I think I take on more then I can handle BUT I will do it. I volunteered to train the dogs that were staying with me last week because of their building needing repair. They have been at their shelter too long "two of them have been there over a year and the rest close to a year".The shelter is kind of out of the way and the owners just don't have the time to hold pet fares, etc. which I know helps in getting these kids adopted out... I did notice that they could use some training while they were with me so I volunteered to do that for the couple that owns the shelter. They are very willing and were quite happy with my offer. It is just the two of them runing that shelter and they have four young kids which doesn't give them much time to train the dogs. They provide a very good shelter as they are very loving to the animals but just don't have the extra time for training. I will do that for them as I would love to see these fur kids go to their forever loving homes and hope that with training them their basics that would help them find their forever homes.
Anyway you know what I am doing. 12--14 hour days are long days , which doesn't allow me much free time BUT its all worth it to me. "smile".Kinow that my friends here at Critters are never far from my thoughts.
I hope all is well out your way and that Cupcake and Xander are being good kids as I know they are.
Sending hugs all around.

11-08-2011 6:42 AM -- By: Lauvern, From: Good Morning Charles, handsome boy Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. and sweet Cupcake and Xander. Thank you for the coffee and pancakes on Sunday. "yum yum". Much appreciated! Hopeing all is well out your way and the kids are doing well. I am looking forward to more snow so that I could get out there with the fur kids and have fun in it. I have a new bunch of shelter kids to see if I can get to go on the tobaggon slides with me as they weren't here last year. Toby, Tyson and Samantha love to go on the tobaggon so hopefully they will convince the others that it is ok. LOL. We normaly have quite alot of snow by now but nothing yet this year. Anyway I guess we will have to have patience and wait for it.
Have a great day.
Sending Hugs all around.
