Hi Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Thank you much for coffee and lemon cake "Luke's favourite" smile. How he loved lemon cake! Anyway we have been getting rain here since Sunday which is a good thing as we had no snow to speak of over the winter. The lawns and trees and just all of the country side is looking alive and green now.The weather has been cooler which I truely appreciate as I get to spend the days outside with the fur kids instead of having to stay inside to keep cool.

I am happy to hear that you have heard from Jules. I miss her posting as I am sure you do as well. We will give her some time and then will just have to send the search and rescue team looking for her. HaHa.

I hope Cupcake gets her stitches out tomorrow as I know they must be annoying her now that she is healing. Let me know how she does tomorrow.

Sending hugs from here to there.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Dear Charles and family,

After a number of days of sunshine the overcast as rainy weather has returned. The kids and I much prefer cooler weather to hot so it is good. I often think of you and hope Cupcake is well on the way to a full recovery.  I am sure she is almost bouncing off the walls and that both of you cannot wait for her to be able to run and play normally.  Kit got his stitches out but now has a limp. If he is not better soon I will take him back to see his friends at the vet's office.  Off to make some scrabled eggs for the kids, one of their favorites! Hugs to you all.

Hi Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Sorry it took me awhile to reply but I finally got caught up with backed up mail. Thank you for coffee and pumpkin bread yesterday morning. mmmm! I love pumpkin bread. Thank you also for the compliment on Luke's BD page. I am still trying to find time to fix up his pages and get them in order as well as get my "Dream come through page" back up there. I think I'm going to have to get our dear friend Jules to help me out with a few things as being computer illiterate as I am, one never knows what may happen when I start moving pages around. Ha-Ha-Ha.

I have some exciting news which I will write to you about over the weekend.

I must get going to the shelter as I have classes this morning. I hope sweet Cupcake is doing better by the day.I know it's not easy keeping her confined. I am not sure if it is harder on her or on her Dad. I think both. Anyway hang in there ,the weeks are getting shorter and she will be back to running and playing with Xander ,who I bet can't wait to have her play with him again.

Have a grand weekend and Thank you again for your kind posts always.

Sending hugs from here to there.

Hi Charles:
I am so sorry to hear about Cupcake's surgery.  Poor baby.  I know how very difficult it is to keep pets confined and inactive after surgery too.  Reading your post brought back memories of our Ruby Jean having double hip surgery (with metal plates) when she was only a year old.  It was a nightmare trying to keep an extremely hyperactive, super alpha, terrier-mix calm, confined, and fairly still for several weeks.  I think it was as draining on her caretakers as it was on poor Ruby.  She, too, revolted against the cone, and so we found a type of soft cone with velcro that was much more comfortable and that she tolerated better.  Though, unfortunately over time she eventually developed a phobia of the velcro (of that ripping sound it makes), so then the cone no longer worked quite so well anymore.  Everything was a challenge with our Ruby irregardless!  :)   I do wish your precious girl a very speedy recovery and I wish you luck in caring for her over the next several weeks.  Hang in there -- I know it is tough to see our babies hurting.  Sending hugs to you, Cupcake, and Xander and wishing you the very best always.  Take Care.

Dear Charles, I see our post did show up! I sure thought I had used a "trigger" word. Glad it came on. I hurt my shoulder and arm again and am trying to favor it for a few days.

Kiss Cupcake and Xander for me! Give them a BIG hug also. xoxox Pat and crew

Hi Charles , handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Thank you for visit, coffee and lemon cookies yesterday.Much appreciated!  I hope Cupcake is leaving her stitches alone now .These babies don't understand that it is for their own good . I hope she is still healing well and on her way to a total recovery, which I am sure she is.

Thank you for sharing the pics and quotes with me . Beautiful dogs and very true quotes!

Things are slowly getting back to normal here and the weather has been great. We need rain also but are suppose to get lots on Wednesday and Thursday which will certainly help keep the dust down as well as help keep the lawn and flowers doing well.

Take care and have a good day.

Sending hugs your way.

Dear Charles and Kids:

Thanks for your post. We got through Saturday. I posted here about the day you and Sammy found one another and I see it didn't get through. I KNOW what I said. Dog breed because my daughters had compliments for your rescues. DARN! I'll re-write it and "mail" it. xoxox Pat and kiddos

Dear Charles and Kids: How are you and how is the weather in Santa Fe? Allergies here are killing us. The usual headaches, itchy eyes, etc.

How is Cupcake? I told my daughters about her surgery and they are both sending healing energy to her. Both girls are so impressed with your 'touch' with pit bulls. The apples didn't fall far from the tree.

Are you still sleeping on the floor with Cupcake? Is she mobile enough to sleep with you on the bed? She is so lucky to have you for her Dad.

Of all the stories about how we got our pets, yours and Sammy's is my favorite. When I come to Sammy's pages, I always have the mental image of you stopping and that passenger door opens and he runs and jumps in. "It doesn't get any better than that".

Take care, Charles.......Pat and the family

Hi Charles, Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Stopping by with fresh hot coffee and our Friday special"Granny's homemade cinnamon rolls" to get our weekend off to a good start.

I bet it is getting more difficult to keep Cupcake quiet as she heals. I remember when Toby had his surgery ,although I was happy to see him heal and ready to get back to running and playing more as each day went by,it was harder to keep him quiet, but we managed those dreadful eight weeks. I know Cupcake will heal real soon and be back to herself ,running and playing with Xander as always.

Have a grand weekend as I am sure you will be spending it with the kids and giving Cupcake all the extra attention she deserves."smile".

Sending hugs as Always.

Oh Charles, Luna looks on with a huge smile ...  when one is loved every day is a holiday ... Humm ... thinking Charles needs mroe of a picker upper, she runs to the patio where the balloons are still resting, lifts one up and hands it to a white dove and motions her to FLY!  Your balloon is on it's way, when someone hold you in their heart, they are with you always. ((hugs)) Luna

Hi Chales, as Luna blows cupcake a tiny kiss, then she watches Sammy looking over his dad, with his paw gently resting oh his shoulder ... saying, "I will always be here for you dad ... my love rings true, I was never so happy till the day I found you". Luna wipes her eyes and lifts her paw and blows another kiss to the wind, may it find you and keep you all safe. ((hugs))  Luna & her mom Nadine

Hi Charles, Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Thank you for coffee and lemon squares yesterday. Much appreciated as at times I forget if I ate or not. Haha. I am happy to hear that Cupcake is doing better and I am sure she will continue to heal with the excellent care that you are giving her.

All here is well and we are getting some beautiful weather. We had a nice rain yesterday which certainly perqued things up.

Have a good night.

Dear Charles: My goodness! You and Cupcake have been through the wringer! How is she doing and how are you? I am certain that she was much reassured when you slept by her. She needed "Dad" to be closeby. I hope the lounge chair cushion was more comfortable for you. It's hard to sleep on the floor.

How is Cupcake doing? I did not know about the surgery and I don't know what it  entails. How long was she in the hospital? How is Xander with her? Is the weather nice enough to go outside and stay for awhile? If she's able?

I'm 20 questions tonight. Please let me know how you both are and we've been sending big positive vibes to Santa Fe!! xoxoxo Pat and family

Dear Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and Bob M. Thank you for stopping by with updates on Cupcake as well as coffee and apple pie. We are happy to hear that Cupcake is getting better by the day. We know with all the extra love and attention that you are giving her,she will heal real well. Xander is doing his part as well. He is letting her know he cares too.

I have no doubt Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M are right their watching over her as well as yourself and sweet little Xander.

I hope that you can get some much needed rest over the weekend as I know you will be spending it with your kids and no doubt spoiling them. "Smile"which is a good thing .

Have a restful weekend and forget all else that may need attention around yard, etc. That will all wait for you. Your Baby girl and Baby boy need you now and they are more important, I think.

Sending hugs and well wishes for a speedy recovery for Cupcake.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Charles, thanks so much for the update on your blessed Cupcake. You have all been in my thoughts and prayers constantly since the surgery, and I know the recuperation is just so heart-wrenching, with Cupcake crying and uncomfortable. I know all your Heavenly Angels are watching over you and Cupcake and Xander, and they are trying to ease her pain. I know she'll be just fine, and I know she's getting your undivided attention. Even sweet little Xander understands that Cupcake needs love now.  I pray for strength for you, too, as you administer the love that will help to heal Cupcake, that God will bless you with extra strength to make it through the sleepless nights. Yes, I do believe that your Kids at the Rainbow Bridge got together with my little Missy to bring us together as kindred spirits on Critters. Bless them for that. You are a treasure and and Angel to those furbabies of yours and to all the grieving souls on Critters whose lives you have touched. Bless you always. Love and hugs from down South, Carol

Dear Sammy, Bob M and Gabby~ Please watch over your sister Cupcake and your Dad and send angel love, kisses and much recovery. Watch over them and always be their angels! Your Dad and sister need you. I have full confidence in you that she will be up to par by the end of the weekend.

05-03-2012 10:11 AM -- By: Dad,  From: Santa Fe, New Mexico

My Beloved Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M .. oh, how your daddy needs you these days.  As you know, your sister Cupcake had major surgery and she is recovering, but it has been difficult.  Your dad doesn't get much sleep, but I will do whatever it takes to get your sister to feeling better.

I ask each of you kids to please watch over your sister Cupcake, let her know you are with her .. and let her know the pain will ease.  Give her lots of love and affection as I know you do.

I have to say, your little brother Xander is doing an awesome job.  He doesn't bother her .. he even comes and licks her face and lets her know he is near her.

Kids, I know I can depend on you and always know your daddy loves each of you so very much.
