Happy Thursday Charles, Sammy, Gabby, Bob M, Xander & Cupcake,

Thank you for stopping in for a visit. I am glad to hear you found a source for good treats for the kids. Keeping mine in food and treats almost requires a second job!

After winds and rain this morning we have some sun though more rain is expected. Spring will show up sooner or later I guess.

Thank you my freind for keeping us in your thoughts. WIshing you all the best.

03-15-2012 11:53 AM -- By: Luna,  From:

Luna smiles at Mr Charles, then she mutters, "what's he talking about, "takes a shiff", then takes takes another sniff ... hummm ...  Mom always said I was the only dog she ever knew that didn"t smell, or how did she put it as she burried her nose in my fluff ... that I smelled like a clean fresh day after a rain ... although I never needed a bath I got one anyway ... Luna looks up and smiles, I know you will know me Charles when you see me. Sending our love always, Luna & her mom Nadine

PS: Your boy Sammy can sure eat! lol. and I might add that he has very good table manners.

Good Morning Charles, handsome Sammy,Gabby and little Bob M. Stopping by this early morning with coffee as I certainly need it today. I have an early and long day ahead. I will be starting  puppy obedience training with the Boxer puppies and their new parents this morning which should be alot of fun."smile". The Rottie I spoke of is doing great "what a different dog". He is so loveable and obedient. "Thanks to Lawrence". I have had two families inquire about him already. The one family is suppose to come back this weekend if they are still interested.  The kids and parents fell in love with him immediately when they saw him yesterday. We will see what happens. All is going well and the weather is beautiful here. The fur kids are all enjoying the warmer days outdoors.

I hope all is well out your way. "Storm this weekend?" I hope the weather man is wrong as I am sure you are looking forward to the nicer weather. One never knows what we still might get as this is very early for us to be having the warm weather. Maybe snow in June!! HaHa.

Have a good day and thank you for coffee and your visit yesterday. We all, at Luke's shelter appreciate your visits and kind words as always.

Sending hugs in the warm northren breeze.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Good Morning Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Thank you for coffee and biscchito cookies and your visits for the past two days. I am having problems with this time change. I can't seem to get 'with it". HaHa. The days here have been just beautiful . Because of the very little snow that we had received during the winter and the warm sunny days , the melting is almost done. I certainly am looking forward to spring cleanup and planting flowers, etc. I love to get out in the yards and work. At home, I have two helpers to "help" me dig around but I wish they would dig in the proper places and dig the right sizes of holes. HaHa. They seem to dig holes large enough to transplant trees when I only need them big enough for flowers. HaHa. Maybe they will get it right this year. HaHa. I am sure Cupcake and Xander "help" you as well. All is well here . I have been busy doing obedience training for the fur kids pending adoption. All is looking good for the puppy mill dogs. "YESSSS.

Have a good day.

Sending hugs as always.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

I hope all is well out your way and your weather is favourable as well.

03-13-2012 9:16 AM -- By: Denise (Mitsy-Ginger's Mammy).,  From: Sunderland, England.

Hi Charles, precious Sammy, Gabby, Bob M, Zander and cupcake. Just dropped by to see your sweet babies again. I was reading about your sammy's last year and it broke my heart. As I remember doing the same for our Ginger and Lady when she has been ill. Ginger's last few weeks was so awful. She wasn't eating much so my husband would cook her a nice piece of steak or a pork chop and he would feed it to her in small pieces. Your fur kids really are your life, like Ginger was to us. I was horrified when I read about your Zander's ears. What kind of evil people end up with these poor dogs. Sorry I missed your Sammy's Birthday.

Happy belated Birthday Sammy, from Denise

Good Friday Morning Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M.

Stopping by with fresh hot coffee and Granny's friday special of warm homemade Cinnamon Rolls.

Yes I have been busy checking out the references for the pending new adopters and all is looking good so far. The Rottie I talked about is back with us and WOW! what a different personality. He is so loveable and plays nice with my kids and "Samantha" my kid too but don't tell Doris "we always joke about whos fur kid she is.HaHa. ......What a difference!! I have to tell you when Lawrence brought him back to the shelter, I couldn't believe it was the same dog . I guess thats what happens when you have a professional working with a dog that needs help. When Lawrence went to leave, the Rottie wanted to go with him and cried when he drove away. He's ok now but it goes to show you,Lawrence's training is done with such love and yet firmness. I can only hope to be able to do the same one day. I do it with "too much" love and not enough firmness as Lawrence tells me BUT I can't help it as I think these sweet  unwanted fur kids have had a hard life so all I want to do is show them love but that doesn't always work as I am finding out. Anyway all is well and I know I will find him a loving home...He respects the fact that Samantha's ball is hers and won't touch it. I have now found him a ball almost identical to Samantha's which he treasures and knows it is his."Smile"

Have a great day and a grand weekend.

Sending hugs from all here at Luke's shelter in the warm northren breeze. It is suppose to be a beautiful weekend here so I know all the fur kids will enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your weekend with sweet Cupcake and Xander as I am sure they love to have Dad home with them.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Thank you so much for your kindest comments on my beloved Bud, a rescue from a Houston shelter, who became my world. I am still in no shape to write his memorial, so our dear friend Diana (and her beloved Leya) put some pictures and started a beautiful site. When I am finally able to accept Bud's passing, you will see my Bud's life with me resembles Sam's life in many ways. I want to thank you for such nice comments; I know Bud appreciates too.

03-07-2012 11:43 AM -- By: Michelle & Princess,  From:

Good Morning, Sammy, Bob M, Gabby, Xander and Cupcake,

I hope your morning is as beautiful as ours. Yesterday we had a couple of inches of snow which we romped and had fun in. Today it is mostly gone and the sky is blue and clear though it is chilly. Today my Bailey celebrates her 8th birthday. She is the last of the babies to have known Princess. She is not aging as well as Princess but I do my best to keep her active and healthy. After a birthday hike we will have a special treat then settle in for some work.  Know I think of you often and wish you a glorious week.

Good Morning Charles, Handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Thank you for the coffee and kind post as always. I now found your post about volunteering last Sunday in Albuquerque. I was looking through my mail for it but it was posted in Luke's guestbook. No wonder I couldn't find it after kinowing that I had read about it somewhere. HaHa. I want to thank you personally for caring enough to help out these furbabies who desperately need help. The world needs alot more people such as yourself to care. As I have told you ,just someone coming in and volunteering to spend time and play with the fur kids"which helps socialize them" means alot to me. I know with people's busy life schedules, it is sometimes hard to volunteer but I always say every little bit helps. So Thank you for caring enough to spend your Sunday helping out in whatever way you can. I am sure your help was much appreciated.

Have a good day.

Hugs

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.

Hi Charles....
Thanks for stopping by -- I appreciate it.  I hope you  and "the kids" are doing well.  I agree with you, the weather has definitely been weird.  We have been under tornado warnings on and off again for the past week or so, and some have touched down in a neighboring county (again).  Scary.  I certainly never expected to encounter tornados here in the mountains, but it seems like we have been under a frequent threat of them since Fall.  It definitely has forced me to have to devise an emergency plan for me and the pets, which is not easy since my dog and cat need to be kept separated.  But I think I have a plan figured out on how the 3 of us can safely and harmoniously hunker down in the only "safe" corner of the basement should a tornado hit.  Hopefully, I will have enough time to orchestrate and  implement "the plan" in time should such an emergency arise.  Hopefully, I will never need it.  It sure is hard to believe that it is almost time for Daylight Savings Time already.  Time sure flies by.  I hope your weather stays Spring-like and you, Cupcake, & Xander get to enjoy more of the great outdoors.  Thanks again for stopping by. Take Care & Best Wishes.
