Thanks for the kind word on Sable's angelversay. Sammy and Sable's last year sound oh too similar with trying to do their buisness in the snow and bad weather being held up for support. I was blessed with Sable for a good part of her life. She lived a good 13 years.

I'm sorry for your loss of your precious baby Sammy. You can tell by his beautiful memorial how much he meant to you. I read about the signs you have had from your boy. I have had similar signs from my precious baby Mitsy. Although everyone thought I was losing my mind. A week after losing her i was sitting outside staring into the sky. Immediately I noticed a crow messing around on my wall. It was walking along to the other side and then back again. It was staring at me. The crow jumped from roof to roof and still kept looking towards me. I thought of my little Mitsy as it was as mischievous as she was. Later that day I was really upset as I watered my plants in the garden. I suddenly felt a cold nose on my back and that was what Mitsy used to do. She would creep up behind me and press her nose on my back, to let me know she's there. I also keep finding her hairs in bunches everywhere. Our other baby Lady sits crying. When I give her a cuddle she is covered in our Mitsys hairs. Real love never dies. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

R.I.P baby Sammy, sleep tight. Love Denise-Mitsy's Mammy

Dear Charles and Sammy:  Thank you for visiting my page for Mr. Darcy and being so kind.  I am sorry for your loss - Sammy and you had such a wonderful and devoted relationship.  No pet deserves the struggles ours had, albeit briefly.  I hope you find peace and remember Sammy will always love you.  Susan

01-24-2012 5:10 PM -- By: Carol Palmer,  From: Socorro, New Mexico

Charles, bless you for stopping by to send your southern neighbor a greeting on Missy's page. Hope all is well up there. It rained here this morning, and is still overcast. You said that you were busy now that the legislature is in session. What kind of work do you do? All the political stuff is very interesting, but my husband and I were teachers here for many years, and kind of out of the loop on what happens in Santa Fe. I went on Sammy's front memorial page yesterday, and the song brought me to tears. it is so beautiful, such a tribute to your son. Who sings it? It is like it was sent from God. It really just takes your breath away, it is so beautiful, like a chorus of angels singing it. Bless you!! It has been wonderful to connect with such a vital member of the Critters community as you are, and the love and support you bring to others is so kind and unselfish of you. I know Sammy and Gabby and little Bob M. are so proud of you. Keep doing what you're doing. You have made such an inspirational difference in so many people's lives. Love to you and Xander and Cupcake from Carol and Steve, Missy, and Smokey, Sweetie, Sabrina, Itsy Bitsy, and Peggy Sue (all adopted geriatric and special needs sweethearts) in Socorro.

Good Morning Charles, handsome boy Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M.

Just a quick stop to share coffee from Jules with you. I hope all is well out your way. I had a long day yesterday and another one today as Kim and her family are all sick with the flu bug or something. Although she said she was going to come to the shelter after her doctor's appointment today, I told her different as she needs to stay home and rest amd look after herself. What a devoted lady!!.

Have a good day. Sending hugs ALWAYS.

Hello Cupcake and Xander....... Cupcake , I hope you are able to run with your brother again as I am sure you are.

Morning Charles, Luna smiles and blows a HUGE kiss to Mr Charles  mwah!  then settles down on a soft cloud as Sammy and their friends watch over a truly amazing dad ... Charles, the love in your heart, the unending support can touch our hearts, it can be felt in your words, and yes, No two could have ever loved each other more ... your Sammy, and my little Luna and the countless others that have been blessed to love as we do ... there are days we miss them so much, but then there are days that a smile appears on our faces out of no where, and a thought comes over us touching our senses, and we can feel them them inside,  letting us know they are with us.

Sending sweet thoughts your way, may they find you and keep you safe till you are in each others arms again. Luna, her mom Nadine, Lily and Opal too!

01-20-2012 7:54 AM -- By: Lauvern ,  From:

Good Early Morning Charles, handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Just stopping by with fresh hot coffee and wishing you a grand weekend. We are still in the deep freeze weather but it is suppose to warm up again by Sunday. I have a busy day today but it will be all indoors so that's ok.

I am so happy that we decided to hold the carnival last weekend as the weather was just beautiful. Had I planned it for this weekend as I originally thought I would do,we would have had to cancel it as it is just too cold to be outdoors. Some changes in plans to work out for the best."Smile"

Have a grand day.

Sending hugs ALWAYS.

Good Morning Charles , handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M.

Thank you for your visits, kind posts and  coffee in the past couple of days. I have started classes with the four dogs that ,seems like have found their furever homes, with their pending new parents. We had our first class yesterday and will have our second on Monday and see where it goes from there. All looks good so far. "smile". The cats are going to be visited by the people that want to adopt them again this weekend. i hope that goes well also.

We are in the deep freeze weather now. I guess it is not any colder than usual for us in January but we have been spoiled with the much warmer winter until now.

Doris, Kim and Lawrence send their regards and hope all is well out your way. Lawrence says he is waiting for updates on what is taking place in NM with the PitBulls so please keep us posted.

Take care and have a great day.

Sending hugs all around.

Charles, what a GREAT memorial!!! You're gonna have to give me some tips to pimp up Tony's! Sammy was such a HANDSOME dog!! Your write up is very touching; how fortunate he was to have such a caring daddy.  Very nice, Charles. Very Nice. Sorry it took me so long to be a good neighbor and check out your page here. Do keep in touch!!

01-17-2012 10:21 AM -- By: Lauvern,  From:

Good Morning Charles, handsome boy Sammy,Gabby , Bob M and Cupcake and Xander.

Thank you for stopping by with coffee and goodies. We had the BEST winter carnival ever with hopefully great results for more furbabies. We now have 5 cats and 4 dogs pending adoption which I have been working on and so far all looks good. YESSSS. We had beautiful weather both days which allowed many more kids to come out with their parents. On Sunday ,we had 209 kids and parents attending. Of coarse some of those  kids were there Sat. as well. Never the less, the turnout was great and fun was had by all.

I am now working on okaying these pending furever homes for 9 furbabies so needless to say, I will be busy but it's all worth it. "Smile"

Have a grand day and don't work too hard as I know we sometimes tend to do. "smile". I have to say I was excausted by Sunday night but it was WELL worth it.

Sending hugs as always.

Lauvern and ALL at Luke's shelter.

01-15-2012 4:34 PM -- By: Claire,  From: Long Beach CA

Thank you, Charles, for your post on my Addie's memorial page.  Your kind words are much appreciated.  Your Sammy was a beautiful boy!  I am so thankful to have found this website and all the wonderful, understanding people here.  People who are not animal lovers simply do not understand how anyone can grieve so deeply over the loss of a beloved pet.  Like you, I have lost quite a few beloved furbabies in the past - my Oreo Cookie, Little Gray Matter, Preshy, Stripey, Gidget, Ginger, as well as my son's kitty, Boo-Boo, and my daughter's kitty, Natasha, who passed at the young age of 6 of fibrosarcoma (an eye-opener to the dangers of the rabies vaccine!!).  May your babies rest in peace and hopefully, while our dogs and kitties may have been adversaries in the real world, they are all playing together and enjoying each other at the Rainbow Bridge.

Good Sunday Morning Charles and kids. Thank you for your visit and coffee as well as thinking of us. Your kindness is always appreciated by not only myself but all here at Luke's Shelter. I know they all visit Luke's site often and have mentioned your posts .So THANK YOU. As you know.without them all I could never be able to do what I do.

The carnival went real well yesterday. We had 147 people in attendance "kids and parents". The weather was just perfect which helped alot. We do expect even more today as in the last years, there were always more attend on Sunday then Saturday.  The great news is there are now 3 cats and 2 dogs pending adoption.. YESSSSSSS.

Got to get back to work. We have lots of food, goodies, coffee, etc. As well as the horses and toboggons are all ready to go again today. We have another beautiful day with light snow falling.

Have a grand day.

Sending hugs all around.

Lauvern and ALL at Luke's shelter.

01-11-2012 8:36 PM -- By: Bob,  From:

As that day came upon me I wondered how the day would be. I sat in my recliner and looked at my photo album. My eyes filled with tears as I remembered how my girl loved me, I remembered the way we would play and the hugs we shared. I remembered how I would share my dinner with my girl. My tears eventually turned my face to a smile as I reflected back upon all the wonderful memories Barbra had left me. I checked my mail and I found you took the time to remember us too. I want to say "Thank You" for remembering us on this day.

Good Morning Charles ,handsome Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M.

Thank you for the coffee the past couple of days and your kind posts as always. Thank you for the compliment on Luke's picture as well. I was so excited to get enough snow to be able to hold the carnival this weekend that I had to have Luke in the snow as well. I know he will be there with us in spirit also.

How is Cupcake doing? I hope doing real well as I am sure she is. These furkids at times hurt themselves and we don't know where or when it happen.

I am working on getting a couple of horses and sleds for the carnival  but  all else is in place. The farmer I normally get them from has his already booked out to another carnival going on this weekend but said he would get me at least one horse and sled but maybe even two from a friend of his. I guess all the winter activities had to wait till we got the snow to carry on and now that we have snow, everything is going on.

Have a good day.

Sending hugs as always.

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.
