Thank you for your thoughts about Jose Girl.  I read your story and it is so like our story of sickness, helping them outside and holding them in their final hour.  I will never get over loosing my Josie who is my forever dog.  Thank you again for remembering her too.

Hi Charles and kids. Thankyou for stopping by and your kind words as always. The little Beagle is doing good and seems to be getting stronger by the minute. I don't and will NEVER understand how anyone can just drop these babies off on the highways to fend for themselves, which seems to be the case as i have called the humane society" lost and found" to see if he was reported missing but he was not. Anyway he is safe with me and i know i will find him a forever loving home. He is such a sweet and friendly little guy. He is enjoying the good food and warm, dry place to sleep and of course all of the attention he is getting from us all. He also likes Granny's cookies. Ha-Ha.The vet says he is about two years old and i am sure he WAS someone's pet as he is housebroken and knows a few commands, etc. Anyway he is their loss and will be someone else's gain after he gets stronger.

The weather here is cooling off some but we still have alot of leaves on the trees. I guess it will be back to raking after we get some winds to blow the leaves off the trees.

I hope all is well out your way.

Sending hugs all around.

Lauvern and the gang.

Hi Charles and Handsome Sammy.  I see you visited us a couple of days ago.  Thank you.  Mom isn't on here much and now that Cuddles has a birthday coming up it will probably be mostly on his Memorial.  That's okay.  He doesn't get as many visitors as I do.  Please come see me again.  Love company.  It's really lonesome since Caliya left.

Hi Charles.... Just wanted to drop by and wish you a wonderful weekend.  I also wanted to congratulate you on Cupcake & Xander making it into the calendar (though was there really any question they'd be picked?  :)   So sorry, that congrats is a bit overdue, but I have been dealing with a sick pet and an unexpected diagnosis, so I just have been very consumed with other things.  But I did want you  to know I was very happy for you and "the kids".  Hope you have a great weekend!

10-15-2010 4:42 PM -- By: Lauvern,  From:

Hi Charles and kids. Thankyou for stopping by and your kindness as always. I certainly needed Jules's coffee this morning along with the cornbread as i was up till after 1;00 am in the vet emergency hospital. We had a Beagle baby brought in to the shelter yesterday afternoon that was found on the highway. He seemed to be ok but as the day went on, something did not seem right,he seemed as if he was wobbley ,when i gave him some food,he seemed ok but then got sick. The vet who volunteers at the shelter checked him and said he had gotten into something and should be taken to emergency . This i did.Of course i waited for blood results etc. to come back as they were attending to this sweet baby. They found he had gotten into some pesticides. As they gave him iv's to clear his system and stabilize him, they said i could go home and leave him there but i decided i would stay with him until he was out of the woods. It was a touch and go situation for awhile there. Well all turned out good and he is back at the shelter. It was well worth my late night to see him come back with me.. He is such a sweet baby too. I don't know how long he has been without a home but he is very thin and undernourished.  After a long rest he was up and playing in his kennel as well as in my office today. I have to keep him away from other babies for now,as we don't know if he has or has not been vaccinated and the vet cannot do vaccinations till he gets stronger. Anyway that was my night and day today and i am tired but it was all well worth it as i saved one more baby.

Take care and have a great weekend.

Sending hugs all around.

Lauvern and all at the shelter.

10-13-2010 2:59 PM -- By: Michelle & Princess,  From:

Hi Charles, Sammy, Gabby and all,

Thank you so much for checking in on Princess and me.  It has been a bit of a stressful time for me. My dad has been in assisted living since his stroke last year and we now know he will never be able to retun to his own home. It has been up to my husband and me to clear it out in preparation for renting. Assisted living is so expensive and my dad needs some income to help with his bills. Thinking back, I realize that his health began to deteriorate after he lost his two companions Jazzy (a great dane) and Deeter (a spitz.) My grandmother also had worse health after losin her little pomeranian.  It is so amazing how much our fur babies do for us and how little they ask in return.  It is no wonder we go to pieces when they must leave us.

Sorry to ramble. We too are enjoying the cooler crip fall air. Kit and Bailey are happier and more playful and I must admit it feels good to me too. Thank you again for your continuing support and friendship. Wishing you the best.

10-12-2010 8:56 PM -- By: Cris aka KCBear's mama,  From:

Hi Charles - I can't thank you enough for visiting me and KCBear on her birthday..

KCBear was already at the bridge before I started advocating for, transporting and fostering 'pibbles' :)

They are the most misunderstood, mis-represented and most loving breed -  as you well know...

I love visiting Sammy's (& Gabby's & BobM's) site, and will make it a point to sign their guestbook more often..

I kinda strayed from 'Critter's' for awhile, as all of the anonymous messages were a bit unsettling..I'm sure they meant well, but...

I do truly thank you for remaining my & KCBear's friend, even though I have neglected to be the same in return..

Hugs to you and all of yours~

Cris

Charles thank you for stopping by. I am glad to hear you are having some nice weather. We are also finally getting some decent days as before it was either hot with no rain or it rained for days.We had a ballooon Festival a couple of weeks ago by our camp and although we did not go I did see some pictures of the balloons and it is amazing some of the things they come up with for balloons. We got back today from closing up camp which means that summer is all over and winter is just around the corner.( I hope it is a long corner) We may still go up a couple of times but we just stay overnight as we will not have any running water.I am happy to have you as a friend just as I know our babies are playing and keeping each other company until we meet them again. I am still hoping that we can get together some day and be able to actually talk instead of type.

Hey Sammy, good to hear from ya'll.We've been having trouble with the computer, but you know i don't get on as much. Tink and Prince are doing wonderful, t hey play so good together, they can even chew their chews in the same room and still them back and forth. I know gypsy is watching over them and me. It still very hard but it is getting easier as i try to think how peaceful and out of pain she is in, and that is a blessing in itself. Also we are getting a new computer soon, too much junk coming in the back door even with all our firewalls, etc. Ya'll have a great weekend and bless you both.

Good Morning Charles and kids. Stopping by with fresh hot coffee and a choice of treats. Granny is in the baking mode and i see Pumpkin tarts ,pumpkin pies, cinamon rolls, and special pumpkin "no spices" cookies for the fur kids I think Samantha is on her 3rd or 4th now, so they must be good. Ha-Ha. Oh i see something chocolate coming out of the oven now. We will all look like pumpkins or turkeys by the time granny is finished baking. Ha-Ha.

It is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada so i am preparing turkey dinner for all. The weather for the weekend is suppose to be beautiful .

P/s My g/f from Florida was just looking at Sammy's memorial and  thinks Sammy certainly is a handsome boy as are all of your kids. She passes on her congrats on Cupcake, Xander and Bob's winnings.

Have a good day and a fun filled weekend. Sending hugs all around .

Lauvern and all at Luke's shelter.
