Charles - I'm not visiting as much as I used to but wanted to visit the friends of Liam who helped me so much when I so desperately needed it. You and you, Sammy, Gabby and Bob M were such a blessing. Still missing Liam every minute of every day - but he lives in my heart and through people like you. We recently adopted a rescue cocker spaniel who, I am convinced, was sent to us by Liam. His name is Eamonn and he shares Liam's big heart and loving soul. Blessings Charles

I know you are busy with Bentley as it does take time and patience to introduce a new kid to the household BUT I know with the love you have for your furkids,there is not a doubt in my mind that ALL will work out and you will all be one big happy family."smile'.

All is well here as we are all enjoying the cooler days and I for one am looking forward to the snow but hopeing it doesn't get too cold. Last winter was awesome but not enough snow as in many places the ground wasn't even covered

The holiday season is fast approaching which I am not looking forward to this year but I will get through it.

I was so happy to hear from our friend , Jules but I can understand being under the weather and not feeling like doing anything. I guess we are in the flu season now. I have finally gotten over my sinus infection after two batches of antibiotics.

Samantha will be spending the night with me as she wanted to come with Tyson after a day of nothing but play and mess up the piles of leaves as we tried to rake the shelter yard.They are both fast asleep on my bed but keeping one eye open to make sure I don't go somewhere without them.HaHa.

Have a good night and give Cupcake, Xander and Bentley a extra hug from us up North.

My Dearest Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M ... Dad just wanted to stop by and leave you a message.  First of all, OH, how I LOVE AND MISS each of you so much.

As you already know, you have another brother named Bentley.  He's a handful .. but with strict discipline and direction, he will be part of the Padilla brood.  Cupcake and Xander did not like the fact that I brought another into the home .. BUT .. they are getting better at allowing him in.

Bentley does have some issues, though, but as I said, I discipline him when I have too.  Please continue to watch over all of us .. especially Bentley and Cupcake and Xander ... please guide them and always let them know you are watching over them and taking good care of them.

Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M .. just know your dad loves and misses you so very, very much.

I am very happy to hear from you. I know you have your hands full so please do not feel you need to write. It sunds like the hierarchy still has some working out to do at your house but I am confident that it will. I can understand why Cupcake and Xander do not want to share their Dad just as I understand how Bentley does not want to share the person who rescue him. As soon as everyone is confident and feels secure about their home I image they will begin to settle down. Hi, Blessed Charles and all the Furbabies, including sweet new Bentley!!!So sorry not to have communicated in awhile.  I haven't been on Critters in weeks!! But, I have never stopped thinking about you and Lauvern and all the friends and Angels on Critters who share my love for our Sweethearts. We couldn't bet on the Internet for about six weeks in late summer, provider issues, and then I just haven't gotten back into the rhythm of visiting Critters to leave messages and condolences. We are all fine. It is still very hot here at times. All five dogs are doing just great!!! I'm sending a big meal of Albuquerque's La Salita enchiladas to you for your Saturday enjoyment!! Our apologies for not checking in before now. I believe I let you know how my life has been a bit turned upsidedown of late. While I may not get to the computer as much as I like I am sure you know I alwys think of my family in NM. Thank you so much for stopping by and your kindness as always. I have not been here for a few days as at times it is too hard to come here but always know my friends are never far from my thoughts.

I know that you will keep your kids safe on Halloween. I will never understand these sick people.We have had similar threats around here at different times but that was all there was to it"just sickos"nothing was ever done. Of course ,we have to be careful and keep the furkids safe.

Your weekends certainly are busy for you with having to haul water in. Everything around here is dry also. Although we did get lots of rain in the spring time, it has been so very hot with no rain to speak of for the rest of the summer. I hope we get alot of snow to build up the water tables for next year.

I certainly understand them 'missing someone days" I have had many of them days and more so lately. We have to believe that they are all healthy again and no doubt having alot of fun in their new healthy bodies as they wait for us to join them one day..... I know what you mean by trying to hide "them days" from Cupcake and Xander. It doesn't work. I have tried to hide them days from Tyson but he knows, something is wrong.. I have to try and be strong for him,especially now. I am so happy he loves Samantha as it gets his mind off of things while he runs and plays with her all day until its time for us to go home. When we get home he hits the bed and is out for the night. Ha.

Dear Charles, Sammy, Gabby and little Bob M. Thank you for stopping by and for your compliment on my page. Although I have a long way to go, I try and work on my kids memorial when I can. It is still hard at times as I look through pictures,and than I  have to quit for awhile.

I have been spending 10 to 12 hours a day at the shelter as I try to make up for lost time. Tyson comes with me daily as he loves to play with Samantha. That helps him as he surely misses Toby and JoJo as we all do.

The weather here is beautiful, with all of the different colors of leaves. This is my favourite time of year as it is not too hot and not too cold.

I hope you have gotten things resolved and I am sure you are working on or finished your privacy fencing. How is Cupcake doing? Is she able to run free with Xander now? I hope she is not limping anymore.

Thank you so much for your kind words in Maggie's guestbook. This is the first furbaby that I've lost who has impacted me this way. You love them all but she was truly one-of-a kind. Everyone's support and love from friends, family, and people I don't even know has been overwhelming. She truly touched a lot of lives and, as I said in her tribute, is the reason so many people now have dachshunds.

So sorry about your loss of Sammy. They truly take a part of you with them.

 Oh Charles!

I cannot thank you enough for the sweet words of compassion.  This has been such a struggle.  Little Socrates was just a beautiful little soul in our lives... touching so many and bringing new friends together.  

I have spent the last two years - off and on (more on than off( in Haiti volunteering because of the earthquake.  So many terrible things to see and devastated lives.  However, this has been far different to cope with and I think I understand why....  It helps to have people out there who send such beautiful thoughts.  You are a beautiful spirit.

Sammy is so beautiful and now I am reading about him.  This little website is such a sweet thing.... Sammy is a sweet boy -- just like his dad.

Dear Charles: I miss the New Mexico weather. One day last week the humidity was 83. I really did like the dry climate.

How is everyone? Is Cupcake free of her surgery problems? And Xander? How is the "boy" doing?

The only vegetables I have growing now is tomatoes, peppers and okra. I picked a pail of tomatoes and peppers earlier. I'm going to make pico de gallo to have with scrambled eggs. I wish I had a piece of Josie's apricot pie to go with it.

Today is beautiful. We had a violent windstorm last night though. I got a half inch of rain. The wind was up to 35 mph.

I've got to get busy and fold laundry. Amazing how often I have to do laundry. I bet it has something to do with dogs in the house. :)
