05-07-2013 4:53 AM -- By: Claire, From: Long Beach CA Nancy, thank you for your thoughtfulness and remembrance of my Addie Rose. We miss and think about her every day. Losing her motivated me to begin a new hobby - scrapbooking - and I'm creating an album in memory of her. We have over 150 pictures of her, so it's taking a long time to complete! Within two months of losing her, we adopted another kitty who we named Katya Angel (Katya is a Russian nickname for Ekatarina, and I felt she was sent to me by an angel to help me deal with my grief over losing Addie; hence, "Angel" is her middle name). I have uploaded a pic of her to my Photo Album here if you'd like to see her. Again, thank you for your kind words. I wish you and your furbabies well. :)

01-15-2012 3:34 PM -- By: Claire, From: Long Beach CA It was four weeks yesterday since we lost our beautiful baby girl, Addie, and neither the pain nor the tears have lessened. Though I've never been one to play favorites, of all the kitties I've had my entire life, there was just something special about my Addie from Day One and she quickly became my most beloved kitty ever. She was more attached to me, and I to her, than any of my others, wanting and giving constant love and affection. Most of my other kitties have been indoor/outdoor cats whereas Addie was primarily indoors, and I think that's what makes a lot of difference. When they are in the house with you all the time, they seem to become more attached to you. Though Addie did have her little quirks and could exhibit a bit of a mean streak on occasion, this was our fault for "roughhousing" with her when she was a little kitten. We have since learned that's not the "correct' way to play with your kitty! :) But, for the most part, she just wanted to be close ther Mama (me!) and petted and loved all the time. Everywhere I look in this house, I still see her - on the arm of my chair where she would sit with me each evening, on my bed where she would cuddle up close seeking my hand for affection and where she would remain with me all night - in my lap when reading my paper in the morning (before she got ON the paper so I couldn't read it, of course!), and I think she's even been here to visit briefly a couple times since she left. Perhaps it was my imagination, but on two occasions, I could have sworn I saw something run quickly past out of the corner of my eye. I will miss her forever, my most precious baby girl.

01-09-2012 1:04 PM -- By: Dru, From: Tucson, AZ I'm so sorry about your beautiful kitty. She was gorgeous! When I first saw her photo, my thoughts were immediately Norwegian Forest Cat. Many years ago in Indianapolis, I was lucky enough to have adopted a wonderful kitty who I believe was a Weggie! He was naturally happy & kind to animals & especially children. He "Raymond" blossomed into such a gorgeous kitty as he matured. It's been 9 years since he has been gone (kidney's at age 14) and he is still missed. I can imagine your sorrow for losing such a wonderful and beautiful kitty!
