My thoughts and prayers are with you, Patti, on Skylar's first Angel day at Rainbow Bridge. We just lost our beautiful girl Cinnamon to cancer June 4, 2012, and know that the 'first' on anything has been and will always be incredibly difficult.
Bless you for sharing a home and life filled with so much mutual love, respect and devotion, with your dear Skylar, Patti, and for always appreciating and honoring him every single day.
Bless gentle spirit and Angel Skylar, Mom Patti, and your entire beautiful family of two and four legged souls, today and always.

You were nothing short of a miracle in Skylar's life, as you nursed him back to health ever since he was a tiny puppy, and he definitely was a miracle in your life, as well. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you cope with this loss. I read your journal and I recognize the steps I, too, went through after losing my precious Missy, around whom my world revolved, just as yours revolved around Skylar. I know how bereft and lonely you have felt. It took me such a long time to be able to write condolences to others who'd been through the same experience, because I felt so sad, just didn't have the strength. You are doing the right thing, writing a journal about your struggle to cope. I book I and my husband have read, which I highly recommend, is I Will See You in Heaven, by Friar Jack Wintz. It is so comforting, and really helps you through the stages of grief. I have found that I can now smile at the many wonderful memories of Missy, and I trust you'll be able to, also, at some point in this process. Love and hugs, Carol

02-29-2012 1:29 PM -- By: margie, From: columbia pa to lose our furbabies is one of the most heartbreaking things to happen in our life...and those who have suffered epilepsy or any other illness is especially hard..they deal with so much during their short life but now can live seizure and pain free at Rainbow Bridge...personnally, I would take care of 100 pets to one human....pets are forever forgiving, always grateful and never malicious. 02-28-2012 8:35 AM -- By: uncle ed, From: Skylar was certainly a beautiful German Shepherd He was gentle and lovable, once you got past the bark (which was definitely worse than his bite, which he never did!). I loved him, and miss him as I did my own wonderful dog who passed away several years ago..
I enjoyed hanging out with Sky when I was at Patti's house, we watched TV together and howled up a storm!! He was so funny sometimes, like a clown, bumping into things, carrying on and knocking things over when Patti came home. It was impossible to stay mad at him, though .He was so cute, and didn't have a mean bone in his body. He liked all of Patti's friends after he became accustomed to them. He loved to walk and bark at other dogs, and gave Patti such a hard time when they were around! It was like trying to control a horse!
Goodbye, Skylar, I will miss you a lot. You had such a good life, you were so lucky to have Patti as your mommy! You made my life more enjoyable with your presence, too. Enjoy your new, disease and illness free afterlife with your family in Heaven!
02-28-2012 2:21 AM -- By: Nancy, From:  After reading the beloved story of yoru precious Skylar, I feel connected to you in a way. My Picky went to Rainbow Bridge on Sept 9, 2010. He was 15 years old and the light of my life. He was with me 24/7 and never left my side. It has been agony without him.
Then I read the double tragedy that you lost your beloved soulmate adn this is where I felt connected to you. I can sympathize as I am terminal and just wanted to tell you how much your story touched my heart.
I am so sorry about Skylar.
