Dedicated To The Memory Of Dollie, The Love Of My Life...
That Face, That Face, That Cover Gurl Face.
To Dollie From Daddy:
A Remembrance
The days are long and lonesome now,
As I travel lifes roads alone.
It seems as if I'm null and void,
Without you, my best friend along.
We traveled as a pair, you and I,
Yes, we went everywhere together.
It mattered not the time of day
Nor come inclement weather.
We loved to go outside and walk,
And to ride in our "big ol' truck."
To see the joy it'd bring to you,
You'd think that you'd had the best luck.
But the joy that it gave you could never compare,
To the pleasure that I felt inside.
Just knowing that I had the one I love most,
Traveling closely by my side.
Sometimes now I just want to give up,
And just sit in the house and die.
The feeling of loneliness is so intense,
A river for you daily I cry.
But I must carry on and live out my life.
I know that you'd want it that way.
You'd tell me "Now daddy, listen to me,
And hear what I have to say."
"We've walked together, you and I,
And we did all those crazy fun things,
We had each other for thirteen years,
And we never traveled around in rings."
"It was always special things that we did,
Not the same old things everyday.
But even if we did I'd have to say,
We did it in other fun ways."
"You gave me happiness, you made me smile,
And I had the best life in the world.
Just knowing that you were my daddy,
And I was your little gurl."
"But daddy I'd traveled as far as I could,
And may I say that the walk it was grand.
But The Lord, He called me to come on home,
And live in His eternal land."
"Daddy, remember what you would always say,
That His way is always the best?
And now that I'm gone I'm sure that it will,
Put your strong faith to the test."
"We were loaned to each other to walk side by side,
And we were never promised tomorrow.
We were never promised all the good times,
And surely not the sorrow."
"So do me a favor please daddy, if you will,
Take the good and the bad, weigh then out.
And see if you don't see it as I do,
There's nothing to cry about."
"Just always keep me in your thoughts,
And remember the great times that we had.
Why, shoot, daddy, you won't even have the time,
To remember why you were sad."
"I'm sorry I've got to go now daddy,
Seems The Lord is calling me there.
"Come on Dollie, let's you and me make,
A place for you and your daddy to share"
"I'll be right here waiting for you daddy,
And just as soon as you get home,
You know I'll be leaping up in your arms,
Never more to roam."
So I'll carry on with a smile on my face,
And I'll praise The Lord all the day through.
Just knowing that my eternal days,
Will begin when I again see you. With Respect, Admiration, Honor And Much Love, Daddy
You put your left foot in, you take your left foot out...
To Daddy From Dollie:
A Letter From Heaven
Hello daddy. I just thought I'd write
You a note, just a line or two.
To let you know that I'm doing alright,
But my little heart, how it aches for you.
Now please, daddy, don't get me wrong
Cause I've got all that I could ever need.
But to let you know, I miss you dad,
So bad. Maybe it's greed.
I wish that you were with me, daddy,
And I miss you, oh so much.
I miss all the things we used to do.
But mostly, I miss your touch.
You see, I can still remember, daddy
How you were always there for me.
I long for more time with you now
As our time was short, you see.
So I try my best each and every day
To keep a positive outlook.
And not to think we are far apart,
Instead, just a journey I took.
And one fine morn' before you know,
You'll make this journey, too.
Then we'll spend each and every day
Together, me and you.
Then you'll see, daddy, when you get here,
That all I've told you of is true.
And neither of us will ever again
Be lonely, or feel blue.
I know right now that I should be glad,
Because I know that you're coming here.
But even though I have no need or want,
I can't help but shed a tear.
But daddy, that doesn't by any means
Mean I'm unhappy, or down and out.
I simply means that I miss you, daddy,
That's what this is all about.
So I'll close now daddy, but before I do,
Just one last thing I need to say.
It's that I'm looking forward, like you,
To our happy reunion day.
A Prayer Of Thanksgiving
I just want to thank you Lord,
For blessing my life each day.
And for meeting all of the needs I have
In each and every way.
But Lord, this day, I just want to stop,
And bow humbly before your throne.
And thank you for the greatest gift
That this man has ever known.
It was all the way back in '94
That you looked inside my heart.
And you saw there, what I needed most,
Was a reason for a brand new start.
And So Lord, in your majestic being
It really took you no time at all.
You created for me, a little gurl,
A daughter, my own to call.
I'll never forget the very first glance,
When my eyes first beheld her little face.
I fell to my knees and said "Thank you, Lord
For your amazing grace."
She had the look of a little baby doll,
And I knew right then and there,
That her Earthly name would be Dollie,
For the time that we had to share.
And the time that we shared together,
Being almost thirteen years,
Was by far the very best of times
Still, undimmed by all of my tears.
A closer friend, I've never had,
Strolling side by side each day.
It was more like Dollie and I were one,
In every single way.
But I suppose, by your Master Plan,
That Dot's work on earth was through.
Lord, help me to Never doubt your will,
But to keep my faith in you.
And now Lord, I need to ask you,
For a favor, if I could.
I don't want to burden you,
And I'd not ask if I thought it would.
I'm hurting so badly inside, Lord,
And I know that you know my heart.
I could never explain it anyway,
I wouldn't even know where to start.
My life now is so empty and lonely,
And I just don't know what to do.
Please help me Lord, I'm crying out
I'm begging and pleading to you.
Guide me Lord, in the days to come,
Please strengthen my walk with you.
And help me prepare myself to be
Worthy when I bow to you.
I suppose that I am rambling now,
That was surely not my intent.
Instead, just to thank you Lord,
For Dollie, to my life you sent.
For I know that Dollie is happy now,
And just as healthy as she can be.
Take care of her, Lord, it's my prayer
Until her little face again I see. Thank You Lord Jesus, Daddy
Watchin' the world go by. Ridin' in our truck with my dad...
A Prayer For All Of My Critters.com Friends....
Dear Heavenly Father, As I humbly bow at your throne today, I lift everyone of my brothers and sisters at critters.com up to you in prayer. Lord, it's most likely that all that footprint this site have a burden. Either they have lost a beloved friend, or they know someone that has. Someone that's been struggling, like I have, with the emptiness and loneliness that only you and that person or persons can possibly imagine. Lord, I ask you in the name of The Father, would you shed your marvelous grace upon each one? Would you, please, super abundantly meet each need according to your perfect will? Comfort and soothe each soul, Lord, in a way that only you can. You know each and every need. I pray that you'll work in every situation in a mighty way, Lord. In a way that'll bring honor and glory to your holy name. I pray this in the name that's above EVERY name, The Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
I'm in my daddy's hands. I'm OK!
? "My Daddy's Hands"
I'm watching over my daddy,
From Heaven's glorious gate,
Our love will last forever,
'Cause for my Daddy, I will wait.
I can see my daddy's hands
Folded silently in solumn prayer,
And reaching out to hold me,
Whenever he is in dispair.
All the years of work and worry,
Have left their mark behind.
But my Daddy's hands are softer,
Than the finest silk you'll find.
I'll always remember my daddy's hands,
How they held me, oh so tight.
How they'd stroke my little back,
And rub my tummy every night.
When I was hurting, Dad would hold me
Embraced in his loving arms,
He was always, oh so gentle,
I was protected from all harms.
I will never forget all of the things
That I learned about this man,
And I will always remember,
The love in my daddy's hands.
He'd sacrificed unselfishly,
If need be, just to keep me fed.
And if I could do things over,
I would have not gone home ahead.
I'd live my life forever,
On this earth, or in Heaven's lands.
Just to feel his love surround me,
To feel the love in my daddy's hands. I love you, daddy. And I'm looking forward to the day when I again can rest in "My Daddy's Hands." Love, Dot..;)
God's special gift to me. My little baby Dollie.
Daddy's Little Gurl
You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little gurl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
A ray of hope, a shining star.
You're the brightest of the sunshine, Morning's first light.
You warm my day, you brighten my night.
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice,
And you're daddy's little gurl.
Our Special Little Place...
this was baby dollie's most favorite place to go walking. i can still picture her here with me, her little legs churning 90 miles a minute to keep up with her daddy's long strides. i'm lost and alone. my heart is broken.. she was my little gurl and i was her daddy. my world is different now. it's empty. i miss her. i'm sad...:-(
Will you rub and tickle my little tummy, please daddy?
YOU ARE NOT ALONE
I cannot ease your aching heart,
Nor take your pain away;
But let me stay and take your hand
And walk with you today.
I'll listen when you need to talk,
I'll wipe away your tears;
I'll share your worries when they come,
I'll help you face your fears.
I'm here and I will stand by you,
On each hill you have to climb;
So take my hand, let's face the world ...
And live just one day at a time.
You're not alone, for I'm still here,
I'll go that extra mile;
And when your grief is easier,
I'll help you learn to smile! I love you daddy, Dollie Marie Cothran
