As well as my love for dogs, I also love chickens and ducks. They are so amusing to watch and I love their company. I currently share my life with 6 ducks and 9 hens and 1 cockeral.

They like nothing better than destroying my vegetable patch, but I wouldn't part with them!

These are Noops little ducks. They are miniture crested silver appleyards.

We got these at week old ducklings and they followed Noops everywhere! He didn't mind.

My chickens love to hang out in my greenhouse where I grow my tomatoes.

Im hoping to rehome some battery hens soon.

When I see my chickens roaming around freely doing normal chicken things like flapping their wings, scratching the surface and enjoying the sun, I can't get my head around the fact government officials seem to think it's ok to confine birds to small wire cages for consumer egg production. Their only escape is slaughter. It's not the farmers fault, consumers still want cheap eggs!

Free a chicken from her cage and only buy Free Range Eggs please.

Can you imagine how I feel
Condemned to life within a place,
Where I cannot ever take a step
Because there is no space.

Can you imagine how I'm aching,
How I long to flap my wings,
I've swollen feet and knee joints
And the pain debeaking brings.

Each day's a living nightmare
Of uninterrupted pain,
For my feather-pecking cell mates
Have already gone insane.

Each day seams an eternity,
Yet one more day to dread.
I've runny sores and tumors
And I wish that I were dead.

And I wonder if, at breakfast,
With my egg upon your plate,
You ever think about me
Or my cruel and tragic fate.

And when your breakfast's over
And you toss away my shell,
Do you realize that the cost to me
Was one whole day in hell?
