Our Sweet Girl In loving memory of our Inga von Gazelle who we love so much. She was such a sweet girl who was a companion, friend and teacher for all the rescues who blessed our lives for a short time. Obviously the Alpha, she could correct with the "evil eye", or if needed, a body slam to the ground. She was ever so gentle with pups, and one of the most caring, loving mothers on earth. She even mothered a white, less than a pound female Chihuahua who walked up to her and latched on....amazing since she had been spayed for six years. We "rescued" Inga from having been confined in a cage for the first year of her life. She had difficulty walking and unknowingly to us, had never seen, much less tried steps. She walked out onto our deck and literally tried to run off into the great beyond (down the steps). We thought we had killed her, but she bounced up and took off. Upon getting her x-rayed, we found hip dysplasia in her right hip. We were told she would probably have to be put down at around 2 years old. She fooled everyone, and needed pain meds only for the last week of her life. She is preceded in death by her mate, Rock von Brutus, and her daughter, Cleopatra von Brutus who went to the bridge earlier this year.
Inga von Gazelle will be greatly missed and be in our hearts forever. Godspeed and enjoy playing with Rock and Cleo at the bridge until we arrive. |
