Wearing a diaper cover over his diapers.
About a year before he passed, my Duke had become completely incontinent. I imagine that it had to be hard on him even though he was unable to tell me so in words. I acted as his caregiver during that period of time, and I loved every minute of taking care of him. I loved buying him darling toddler diapers and pull-ups for boys. He took it all so well, as he did most everything, and eventually he would come to me when he wanted to be changed. My sister and I changed him up to eight times a day. He was worth every single second of my time and attention. I would do it all over again for him in a split second. He was a wonderful friend, companion and devoted love of my life, for which I am eternally grateful!
Snuggled in towels after bath (2008).
Approximately six months before Duke died, his legs, particularly his back legs, started to fail him. As time progressed, he had a harder and harder time standing up, so often times I would carry him around the house. He could no longer stand up in the tub b/c it was too slick, so after bathing Duke, I would wrap him up in towels so he'd stay snuggly and warm while drying. Being his caregiver was a great joy for me, and I was so happy to have the opportunity to take excellent care of him. I did everything I could to make his life as pleasant and as comfortable as I possibly could.
