My beloved, sweet, gentle girl
In loving memory of our Saada who we love so much. Saada will be greatly missed and be in our hearts forever.
Our dear, gentle, "little" girl, we miss you so very much. It's hard to imagine where time goes. It seems like just yesterday we were accepted as your adoptive parents from the rescue organization. I remember vividly that day, 9 years ago on Dec. 4, 1999, when we drove up north to pick you up from your foster mom. The anticipation and excitement was overwhelming. At 9 months old, you were already a big girl, very tall and 70 lbs; and your gentle nature was already showing through. When daddy drove us home, you laid down in the back but kept your head on mom's shoulder the whole 4 hour drive back. From that day on you were definitely mommy's girl, and we were rarely apart.
Since we have no children, Saada was our "baby," our dear child, companion and friend. We kept the name she came with from rescue since it suited her so well. In Swahili, Saada means helpful. Not only did she live up to her name, she was just a miracle to me; my dear, sweet doggie soul-mate.
Dearest Saada, you made us laugh and brought such joy into our lives. I'll always remember the funny "quiet" bark you learned, and how you wouldn't lay down in your bed at night until Mom had your baby blanket in hand ready to tuck you in. You went with us on vacations, camping, and your favorite place of all, the beach. Our lives revolved around you so much, the house seems so empty without you here. You can't imagine how much we miss you girl, and miss giving you dozens of kisses and hugs every day.
Your life was taken way too soon from cancer, and I can't begin to express how badly it hurts now that you are gone. It feels like a part of me went with you, my heart hurts so much. Letting you go was one of the hardest decisions we've ever had to make, but we just couldn't allow you to suffer. You were never one to complain, and you probably suffered in silence longer than we were aware.
As we said to you every day of your life, and continue to say, "I LOVE YOU" big girl. We were so honored to be chosen as your adoptive parents, and cherished every day we had with you. You were 100 lbs. of pure love and tenderness, a truly beautiful girl inside and out. We miss you so very much. You'll be in our hearts forever sweet angel. I hope you have found your brother and sister, and are playing, running like crazy, and having fun at Rainbow Bridge with all your new friends.
Until we meet again dearest girl... love always,
Mom and Dad
My sweet angel

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent. Her eager body quivers. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
