True love doesn't have a happy ending,
because true love never ends.
Letting go
is one way of saying
I love you.

The other day (in March 2012), I came across this beautiful and metaphoric song about weathering the storm and moving on. In listening to the words, it brought me back to nearly 4 years ago when we had to make that difficult and heartbreaking decision to release Molly from her pain and set her free -- back to the time when we decided that it was our responsibility to give Molly the gift of peace and tranquility, even if that meant it would probably be quite some time before we found that for ourselves again. It is reminder of a time when we learned that sometimes true love means having to painfully sacrifice your own heart for the good of the one you love. Though time has helped to ease the pain of letting Molly go, I think I will always miss my beloved friend. Time simply has not managed to change that much. But I guess that is a testament to the wonderful bond and friendship that we shared, and for that I am indeed blessed.
And ironically, this song is called, "Sweet Molly". How fitting, as our precious girl epitomized sweetness every day of her life. Interestingly, the song even says, "Sail away to where the Rainbow meets the sea... Sail away, Sweet Molly, sail away". I have no doubt that our precious girl has found that rainbow.
Dear Sweet Molly:
I hope you have sailed to some truly amazing places since you've left here, and like the songs speaks of, I hope your sails are forever full of all the wonderful things of your dreams.

And someday, when the day comes when my own sun will set, I know you'll be there patiently waiting for me far beyond the sea..... as I sail away, back home to you.
I'll see you then, Sweet Molly.
I Love You, My Dear Friend.
