I still recall the many times you've jumped upon my bed,
walking across my covered legs just to kiss my head.
These times stood still for me if only just a while,
to remember your soft white touch only makes me smile.
If I could bring back these times I'd hug you once again,
to lay with you upon the bed my very dearest friend.
For memories are golden that is what they say,
your spot upon the blanket forever you do stay.
Though I cannot see you you'll live within my soul
and roam the green, green grass of home and forever you'd be whole.
I lay down alongside you along the bridge you play,
my hand held in your paw forever and a day.
I lay down beside you upon your heavens sweet sleep,
lying right beside you my love you forever keep.
If I could disappear if only for a day,
I'd spend the day at rainbow bridge and together we would lay.
We would chase the morning sun as the butterflies took flight,
counting the evening stars when the heavens turned to night.
So look for me in the silver lining up amongst the cloud,
you'll feel my presence in your sleep feeling so very proud.
