In loving memory of my Itty Bitty Dot Com (Lil Bit) who I love so much. Lil Bit was diagnosed with Cushings Disease ( a pituitary gland tumor ) in late 2009. He then became diabetic and went completely blind within a year. He suffered severe bouts of pancreatitis and would have to be on IV's for as long as a week at a time.
Cushing's disease typically occurs in middle-aged to older dogs. The disease develops slowly and the early signs are not always noticed. Symptoms in dogs include
- increased thirst
- increased urination
- increased appetite
- reduced activity
- excessive panting
- thin or fragile skin
- hair loss
- recurrent skin infections
- enlargement of the abdomen, resulting in a "pot-bellied" appearance
He was my precious baby and will be greatly missed and be in my heart forever. You may visit the video memorials I done for him at:
