no more happy days like this....

Our thanks to all that have visited Izzy's memorial, signed her guest book and left messages of support. It truly helps to be accompanied by kindred spirits that know and understand about these most difficult of life's moments.  We have visited the memorials you have created for your loved one's and take solace in seeing and reading about other wonderful companions that have enriched your lives.

In memory of our little Izzy girl, we love & miss her terribly.

Izzy (Isadora) lost her battle to cancer on March 28, 2012.  She fought fearlessly and bravely for 6 months.  In the end the cancer began to spread to her brain causing her to have seizures. With heavy hearts we had to put her to sleep to end her pain. We accompanied her on this her final journey.  She never closed her eyes, choosing instead to look at us as she departed.

We will miss her loving kisses, her barks, her companionship, her gentleness with children, and most of all, her unconditional love.

Good bye little girl....  you are one of the gentlest and purest souls ever to grace our lives..!

Armando & Hernan

Puppy days...!

Years ago Hernan had two Jack Russell's, one named Lucy and the other one named Lulu.  Unfortunately he had to give Lulu to a friend because he could not keep both.  A few years later though Lulu had puppies, one of which was Izzy.

I remember going to see the puppies to adopt one of them.  Izzy was the runt of the litter and the last one we looked at.  I remember holding her and noticing the small tan spot on her right ear.  We were last to the selection process and were not sure which puppy we would get.  When Hernan brought her home, I was happy to see it was her. It took a little while to name her but we finally settled on Izzy (Isadora).

Fearless..!

Don't mess with me!  I'm a mean puppy!

Izzy was fearless.  She would always defend us against other dogs, no matter their size. There were some dogs she liked and others she did not.  She always liked people though and was especially gentle with children.  She would bow down to them so they could pet her.  She also recently accepted a new kitten (Ella) into the family, even while she was sick.

Izzy and Amadeus

Izzy grew up with Amadeus, our German Shepherd of 14 years.  He was one of the only other dogs that she would sit or lie down next to.  He was like a gentle old grandfather to her.  They're now together.

Chiquitita (Little One)

Chiquitita, tell me what's wrong
You're enchained by your own sorrow
In your eyes there is no hope for tomorrow
How I hate to see you like this
There is no way you can deny it
I can see that you're oh so sad, so quiet

Chiquitita, tell me the truth
I'm a shoulder you can cry on
Your best friend, I'm the one you must rely on
You were always sure of yourself
Now I see you've broken a feather
I hope we can patch it up together

Chiquitita, you and I know
How the heartaches come and they go and the scars they're leaving
You'll be dancing once again and the pain will end
You will have no time for grieving

Chiquitita, you and I cry
But the sun is still in the sky and shining above you
Let me hear you sing once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita

So the walls came tumbling down
And your love's a blown out candle
All is gone and it seems too hard to handle
Chiquitita, tell me the truth
There is no way you can deny it
I see that you're oh so sad, so quiet

Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita
Try once more like you did before
Sing a new song, Chiquitita

Chiquitita lyrics (Abba)
