Our precious little girl

In loving memory of our Rubee Lu.  Rubee Lu will be greatly missed and be in our hearts forever. Our beautiful little girl passed away suddenly on May 31, 2012.  She was 7 1/2 years old.  We are trying hard to remember all the joy she brought to our lives and not the sadness with her loss.  There wasn't a day that went by that we didn't say  to each other at least 10 times "look at what Rubee is doing!  She is so adorable." 

Thank you Rubee Lu for bringing so much happiness into our lives.  We tried so hard to help you. We love you and you will be forever missed.

 On May 31, 2012 I found my Yorkshire Terrier, Rubee Lu, choking on a treat. I tried to reach into her mouth and remove the treat. I was unable to. I called to my husband and immediately we put her in the car and headed to a Veterinary Clinic. We decided to take her there as it is approx. two miles from our home. We ran into the office with our dear sweet little angel and asked if someone could help her.  The employee behind the desk told us that the Vet. was in surgery and she could not disturb her. I begged her to go and ask her and she refused.  My husband then asked them where the next closest Vet. was and they said down the road about two miles. We headed down the road as fast as we could only to find that office closed for lunch. We then headed to a third Vet. Clinic and they too were closed for lunch. All this time and Rubee was gasping for air. We finally found a Vet. Clinic that was open and we rushed her in and they tooking her immediately and tried to help her, but it was too late. The treat was lodged in her windpipe and her little throat was so swollen and bleeding that they could not help her. She passed away a few minutes later.


I hope everyone with pets will learn from this tragedy. Take just a few minutes to make yourself familiar with where your closest Emergency Veterinary Clinic is, their phone number and directions to their office. Jot it down. Hang it up inside a cupboard. That way you will be prepared. Do this in memory of my sweet little Rubee Lu.
